It Takes a Community
to Build a Home

Community Sponsorship (CS) connects refugees with local communities – including diaspora communities, NGOs, governmental actors, and landlords – helping them settle in a new environment.

What is Community Sponsorship?

Community Sponsorship brings together compassionate individuals, groups, and families to connect them with refugees who need support starting a life in a new country. The goal is to create a welcoming environment where new members of the community feel supported and connected.

The RISE project focuses on connecting refugees with Sponsors across Belgium, Italy, and Lithuania. Together, we’re addressing challenges like housing shortages and integration, creating opportunities for refugees to build independent, self-reliant lives in their new communities.

In Belgium, RISE works closely with Fedasil to enhance Community Sponsorship programs. This collaboration aims to provide alternative reception solutions for refugees, tackling housing shortages while fostering local engagement and solidarity.
