Dear colleagues, partners, practitioners, representatives from diaspora organizations,
IOM Belgium and Luxembourg is delighted to invite you to our webinar “Strengthening Community Sponsorship (CS) through Diaspora Engagement” taking place on Wednesday, 12th of November, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET. This event will highlight the invaluable contributions of diaspora organizations who will share their experiences and insights on supporting the integration and social inclusion of refugees through Community Sponsorship (CS) schemes.
Housing is central to successful Community Sponsorship, yet the essential role diaspora communities play in helping refugees access safe and decent housing, and in supporting their broader integration, is often overlooked. This webinar, drawing on insights from the RISE project in Belgium, will explore practical ways to engage diaspora actors, highlight their contributions along the integration journey, and discuss how they can drive innovative partnerships that strengthen sponsorship schemes.
This event is designed for all stakeholders interested in housing, refugee inclusion and Community Sponsorship. We encourage you to share this invitation with colleagues and partners who can benefit from the knowledge and resources.
What to expect:
- Engage with expert speakers and contributors, including representatives from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC)/Share Network, Network of Afghan Diaspora Organisations in Europe (NADOE), Umbrella Refugee Committee (URC), Cameroon Union Flanders (CUF) and South West Somali Community (SWSC) in Belgium.
